Cartridges and accessories

NXbursT™ Rock Breaking Cartridges provide safe and effective non-detonating rock breaking, boulder splitting and demolition. NXbursT™s cartridges break rock and concrete with minimal fly rock, vibration and noise and are available in 12 mm, 28 mm, 34 mm and 60 mm diameters; and in charge weights from 2g to 500g. NXbursT™
Rock Breaking Cartridges are classified as UN 0432, Articles Pyrotechnic for technical purposes, UN Class 1.4S and have been authorised for use in 26 countries world wide, where they are widely used for civil excavation and mining applications.

NXBURST™ 12 MM ROCKPOPPER RANGE

NXbursT™ RockPoppers are used for breaking small boulders up to 1 cubic metre in size (used widely in breaking crusher oversize); scale removal in tanks and silos; and small demolition jobs. They require a
14 - 16 mm diameter hole which can be drilled with a hand-held electric hammer drill.

NXbursT™ RockPopper cartridges are available in 2 grams to 6 grams charge-weights in increments of 1 gram.

NXBURST™ 28 MM CARTRIDGE RANGE

The NXbursT™ 28 mm cartridges are used for boulder breaking; armour stone splitting; medium sized concrete demolition; dimension stone quarrying; swimming pools excavation and other sensitive in-situ breaking. The NXbursT™ 28 mm Cartridge was designed specifically for underground applications where 32 mm holes are drilled horizontally. The NXbursT™ 28 mm Cartridge is available in 20 grams to 120 grams charge-weights in increments of 20 grams.

The NXbursT™ 28 mm cartridge requires a 32 to 34 mm diameter hole which can be drilled with a handheld pneumatic drill using a 160cfm compressor.

NXBURST™ 34 MM CARTRIDGE RANGE

NXbursT™ 34 mm Cartridges werden zum Abbruch von Beton, zur Erweiterung von Tunneln und Schächten, zum Grabenbau und an anderen empfindlichen Einsatzorten verwendet. Die NXbursT™ 34 mm Cartridge ist erhältlich mit Einsatzgewichten von 20 Gramm bis 180 Gramm, in Schritten von jeweils 20 Gramm.

Die NXbursT™ 34 mm Cartridge benötigt ein Loch mit einem Durchmesser von 38 bis 42 mm, welches mit einem handbetriebenen Druckluftbohrer unter Verwendung eines 160 - 400 cfm Kompressors gebohrt werden kann, je nach Zahl der Gesteinsbohrer, die gleichzeitig benutzt werden sollen, oder mit einer kleinen hydraulischen Bohranlage.

NXBURST™ 60 MM CARTRIDGE RANGE

NXbursT™ 60 mm Cartridges can be used for large scale rock excavations; hard-rock trenching; foundation excavation and other sensitive civil rock breaking applications. The NXbursT™ 60 mm range is available in 200 grams to 500 grams charge-weights.

The NXbursT™ 60 mm cartridge requires a 64 to 76 mm diameter hole which can be drilled with a small hydraulic or pneumatic drill rig.

NXBURST™ PROFILER RANGE

NXbursT™ 60 mm Cartridges können für großangelegten Gesteinsaushub, die Anlage von Gräben in Hartgestein, den Aushub von Fundamenten und andere empfindliche zivile Anwendungen zum Gesteinsbruch verwendet werden. Der NXbursT™ 60 mm Range ist erhältlich mit Einsatzgewichten von 200 Gramm bis 500 Gramm.

NXBURST™ ELEX 7 100-SHOT SHOTEXPLODER

The Elex-7 is a pocket-sized single channel, highenergy electronic initiator for setting off detonators and fuses. Using standard batteries, it is supplied in a robust and water-resistant enclosure enabling it to be used in harsh environments.

The unit is easy to operate and has extensive safety features and interlocks. It is safe, reliable, foolproof and rugged. It is capable of setting off 100 NXbursT™ cartridges in series connection in a single firing.

AECE DIGITAL BLASTING OHMMETER

The AECE Digital Blasting Ohmmeter shows the firing circuit resistance (from 0.1 Ohms to 100 Ohms) on a large liquid crystal display which is easily read in both daylight and poor lighting underground.

This Ohmmeter is safe for testing NXbursT™ Cartridges and electric detonators at the working face. The AECE Digital Blasting Ohmmeter is approved for use in fiery mines in South Africa.

NXBURST™ STEMMING LOADER

The NXbursT™ Stemming Loader is a lightweight, portable pneumatic method of loading stemming aggregate into horizontal drill holes.

The NXbursT™ Stemming Loader consists of a loading pot, into which the stemming aggregate is inserted, with a venturi outlet at its base. The stemming loader is connected to a compressor and, when the trigger mechanism is activated, the compressed air blows the stemming aggregate into the drill hole. The stemming loader achieves a degree of compaction of the stemming which is excellent
for sealing NXbursT™ cartridges in the drill hole. The NXbursT™ Stemming Loader is fabricated from stainless steel and comes with a detachable and replaceable nozzel unit.
